Governor
Schwarzenegger Issues Proclamation Calling for a Special Election within
the 53rd Assembly District
Governor
Arnold Schwarzenegger today issued a proclamation calling for a special
general election to be held on November 8, 2005, to fill the vacancy
created by the passing of Assemblyman Mike Gordon of the 53rd
Assembly District.

is the full text of the proclamation issued today by the Governor:

ELECTION PROCLAMATION
BY
THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA
I, ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER,
Governor of the State of California, in accordance with the requirements
of California Elections Code section 10703(a), and a previously scheduled
local election and the calling of a statewide special election, do hereby
proclaim and order that a special election shall be held on the 8th day of
November, 2005 within the 53rd Assembly District of the State
to fill the vacancy in the office of Member of the Assembly from said
district resulting from the death of Mike Gordon.
