Dem. Leader Nunez Squelches Voter Choice in Assembly Election
Duplicitous Democratic Sacramento Leadership Practices Chicago-style kingmaker politics.

The piece pictured on the right  appeared on August 18th in the Easy Reader.  It paints a very dark picture of what California politics has degraded to.  That now one powerful person in Sacramento can completely thwart the ability of candidates to run for office.

All too often we listen with distain to stories of countries where only one candidate's name is permitted on a ballot and the government claims it is democratic.  We say that is not democracy that is dictatorship.

But what has become of democracy right here in the 53rd Assembly District?  It seems we too are living under a dictatorship.  It seems that at least one Democrat candidate was strong-armed into not running in order to ensure only one Democrat appeared on the ballot.

Well in a district that is mostly Democrats, that equates to a dictator choosing the candidate.  The dictator in this case is Democrat Assembly Leader Fabian Nunez.  And he has hand picked the one candidate allowed on the ballot.

Luckily we have 3 great Republican candidates who the voters can choose.
