redistricting plan would take a corrupt system and make it even worse. June 29, 2005 So you thought the Democrats who dominate the California Legislature were willing to negotiate with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger? Look at their offering on the corrupt way election boundaries are drawn, and think again. Sadly, the proposal comes from Sen. Alan Lowenthal, who sometimes in the past has shown an all-too-rare inclination toward serving the common good, as opposed to his own political party. This time, Lowenthal has put forward an alternative to the governor's reform initiative that would make an awful situation worse. Read
